The Alliance of Tribal Coalitions to End Violence recently held the first ever Tribal Coalition Board Institute in Columbia, South Carolina. This institute was a 2-day interactive training created specifically for Tribal Coalition Board members to inform, assess, enhance, and elevate the effectiveness of Tribal Coalition boards and committees.
Over the course of two days, attendees engaged in sessions on topics like: nonprofit governance/legal duties, finances, board best practices, and fundraising for non-profit organizations.
One of the most powerful aspects of the Institute was the sense of connection. The exchange of stories, challenges, and solutions created a space of mutual learning and respect amongst board members that are brand new to the Tribal Coalition space, and those that have had years of experience.
Following the success of this inaugural event, the ATCEV plans to continue to provide additional trainings to support continued learning and connection.
